PLAYDOUGH

At Ready Steady Go! we love messy play and find that it is a great way for children to have lots of fun and learn all sorts of wonderful things right across the curriculum.
A big favourite is making our own dough!

You can try this at home with your child very easily.
Just let them mix flour and water together and see what happens. Don't worry if it goes wrong - that's a great learning experience! Self raising flour makes a stretchy dough, or you can add food colour, or scents like vanilla / peppermint essence,or try sieving wholemeal flour.. have fun!

Cooked playdough will keep well in an airtight container

RECIPE
2 cups plain flour
1 cup salt
half a tub cream of tartar
food colour of your choice
2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 cups of water

Mix all the ingredients together in a large non stick saucepan. Heat and stir with a wooden spoon on a medium heat until the mixture forms a ball and comes away from the sides of the pan.
Allow to cool and then knead on a floured surface till smooth and ready to be played with!

Jesus heals!

Today in Foundationstones it was Sapphire week where we use our special Sapphire boxes to explore a Bible story together and teach one another in small groups.

This week we learnt about two miraculous healings from Mark 5. A woman who had been bleeding for years and a little girl who Jesus raised from the dead!  We learnt that nothing is impossible...even licking your elbow!

Here are some pictures we made using plasters to remind us that "by His wounds we are healed!"

A Whale of a Time!

This month at Messy Church something fishy was going on...

If you enter the messy church fish,
You'll find fun with a splash and a splish!
Make boats that can float,
Play with sparkly goo.
Do painting with straws,
Make whales from balloons.
And eat lots and lots of scrummy food,
But watch out or the big fish might come and eat you!
