Good speaking and listening skills are an essential foundation for all children's learning and development and we have been working hard to provide an environment and activities which will support these skills.
A favourite with the children has been "Albert" the monkey.
The children take turns to take him home for a night, to experience everyday activities such as having lunch, going to the park, or listening to a bedtime story and sometimes to go out for special events and outings.
They bring Albert back to pre-school the next day and share their adventures with other children using Albert's diary which parents have supported their child to make entries in using drawings, photos and emergent writing.
